We have managed to provide relief for almost 14,000 families in our base areas. However, this represents only some 10% of our target families and so our relief operations continue. We are also bracing for four more major typhoons which are forecast to hit the Philippines in the next few weeks.

We are currently making a special appeal for trade union support.

Some 30 factories and work places that we organise are not operating due to flooding. Many of these factories continue to be submerged. Several of these are in Pasig with well over 2000 workers affected. In total we estimate that more than 5000 workers from these factories have been affected. The BMP will be launching campaigns to address the demands of these affected workers.

We are now combining relief operations with campaigns and mobilizations around demolitions/relocation, release of calamity funds and calamity loans.

We thank our supporters for the assistance given so far and please keep it coming, including for our campaigns.
