The procession-march against killings in Balic-Balic, Manila made several stops to the streets or infront of houses where the killings happened.

There have been 18 killings in the area but we can only cover some.

We lighted a few candles for them, recited prayers and the relatives spoke -- wife, children, mother, friends and kins.

The march ended at the wake of a barangay treasurer killed just recently.

When I spoke, I said the war on drugs is wrong on three counts: first, it's really a war that exterminates the poor; second, it's not after the source of the drugs and the real syndicates (in fact, it protects them); third, it allows the corrupt police syndicates to lead the war, that is why the killings haven't stopped.

The Balic-Balic procession is co-organized with the Human Rights Ministry of the Parish, the PLM and IDEFEND.

The PLM is still planning to continue the community marches in other places to unify and emboldened the community to resist the war on drugs.

Please wait for next advisory on where the protest processions will be held.

We urge the communities where the killings have happened -- and where they're continuing -- to rise up in indignant protests.

The PLM (Partido Lakas ng Masa) will be with you.
